Kathy Lynette Firey, age 69, Joplin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Saturday, September 16, 2017 at her home.
Kathy was born May 21, 1948 in Joplin, to the late Jim Holden, Sr. and Patsy Ann Jeeter Holden.
She married Samuel Firey on April 26, 1994 in Joplin. He survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Joplin High School and worked at Ozark Mental Health for many years. she was a active member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Samuel; she is survived byone daughter, Tamblyn Manley, and husband Bill, Oklahoma City, OK; one step-son, Ronald Klein and wife, Amy, Duenweg; two step daughters, April Klein, Nashville, Tenn. and Kerri Klein, Carl Junction; two brothers, Jim Holden, Joplin, Gary Park, Kansas City, KS and two sisters, Debbie Whitlock, and husband, Brad, Springfield, MO and Vernadean Elleman, Kansas City, KS.
Memorial services are planned for Thursday, at 1:30 p.m.in the Forest Park Chapel, Dr. John Swadley, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Parker Mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
