Alice Schrader

Alice Margaret Schrader, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Saturday, November 11, 2017, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home at the age of 90 years.

She was born on August 19, 1927 in Purdy, MO to Henry and Agatha (Schneider) Massmann. Alice was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Stone’s Prairie, and was confirmed at Meinert Lutheran Church in March of 1942.

She was united in marriage to Emery “Codger” Schrader on February 27, 1949. Alice worked as a cook for the Immanuel Lutheran School for many years. She had also worked as a seamstress, and also for the hospital and the drug store. Alice was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Agatha Massmann; her husband, Emery “Codger” Schrader; one daughter-in-law, Pat Schrader; and two sisters, Ruth Renfro and Edith Maize.

Survivors include her three sons, Jerry Schrader of Lamar, MO, William Schrader and his wife Diane of Golden City, MO, and Robert Schrader and his wife Nickie of Lockwood, MO; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Schrader, Jason Schrader, Jonathan Schrader and his wife Kelly, Nicholas Schrader and his wife Kathleen, Gabriel Schrader, Heather Leeper and her husband Nick, and Jeremy Schrader; one great-grandchild, Baleigh Leeper; two sisters, Florence Sparks of Lockwood, MO and Opal Morris of Malvern, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017, in Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
