Sharon Ruth Wininger, age 68, Joplin passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Sharon was born December 17, 1948 in Norwalk, Ohio, daughter of the late Herman Bowens and Burlie Davis Bowens.
Sharon was a very giving person who loved taking care of children, and operated a daycare in her home for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Norman and George Wininger; and a grandson, Devon Rose.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Wininger, Sr. whom she married on January 12, 1967 in Duenweg, Missouri; her son, Ray Wininger and his wife, Sara, of Joplin; five grandchildren; two great-grand children, and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers; three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. J.C. "Buddy" Walker, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
