Jacquie Watson

Lorena “Jacquie” Watson, 92, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Neosho, MO, died November 10, 2017. 

 She was born in Hugoton, KS on June 20, 1925, the youngest of the seven children of William Alfred and Daisy Jacques. She grew up in the rural area between Monett and Purdy, MO and attended Purdy High School, graduating on April 30, 1942. After high school, at the age of sixteen, Jacquie boarded a train and moved to Tulsa, OK to live with her mother’s brother, John Reno. Jacquie worked for Bovaird Supply Company and roomed with other young women who remained lifelong friends. 

After World War II, she married Horace “Hoss” Nations and they soon moved to Noel, MO where they raised all four of their children, living on a farm along the Elk River for almost twenty years. Jacquie and Hoss were divorced in 1974.  

In 1976, Jacquie married Leslie Watson of Cassville, MO. They enjoyed their early retirement years in and around Cassville until Leslie passed away in 1984. Jacquie moved to Neosho in 1991. Her home there had a big backyard where she loved to garden, planting flowers for fifteen years. She was always artistic and left many paintings for her friends and family to remember her by. She faithfully attended Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Neosho for nearly twenty years. 

 Jacquie is survived by her daughters, Laura Nations of Olathe, KS and Sandy Smith of Denver, CO; her son Bruce Nations of North Carolina; son-in-law, Rick Butler of Neosho, MO; grandchildren, Craig Butler of Rocheport, MO, Brian Butler of St. George, Grenada, Alex Silverman of Stillwell, KS, Jill Rogers of Denver, CO, and Sam Rogers of Spring Hill, KS. She has four great granddaughters -–Emily, Ellyson, Janie, and Dorothy Day and one great grandson, Drake. Jacquie is preceded in death by her six siblings, both husbands, and her oldest daughter, Denice Butler of Neosho, MO.

Services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO, with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Monett, MO. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 6:00 pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.
