Howard Green

Howard L. Green, 86, passed away November 19, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Howard was born January 13, 1931 to Elmer and Leona “Southern” Green. Howard was a resident of Carthage since 1975. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Sea-Bees. He owned and operated the Jasper Auto Supply, and enjoyed farming and everything mechanical. Howard is a member of the Avilla First Baptist Church.

Howard was united in marriage to Betty Clark on June 25, 1951 in Raton, New Mexico. They were married for 66 years; she survives.
Howard is survived by four sons: Lester Green and wife Debbie of Parsons, KS, Gary Green and wife Janice of Roy, New Mexico, Mark Green and wife Jill of Ozark, Missouri and Lance Green and wife Nancy of Carthage, Missouri. He is also survived by one sister, June Robertson of La Junta, CO; grandchildren: Noelle Terry and husband Tyler of Carl Junction, MO, Nicole Ragsdale and husband Steven of Broken Arrow, OK, Jared Green and wife Katie of Ozark, MO, Michelle Baxter and husband Brad of Matador, TX, Laura Johnson and husband Joel of Strafford, MO, Jana MacLachlan and husband Dan of Strafford, MO, Cammi Scott and Husband John of Shenandoah, IA, Jess Green and wife Carrie of Nevada, MO, Suzanne Kaslon and husband Jeremiah of Stinnet, TX, Erin Smith and husband Mike of Panhandle, TX, Jake Green and wife Margaret of Mosquero, NM, and Josh Green of Canyon, TX. Howard is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at GreenLawn Cemetery in Jasper, MO, with memorial services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Avilla First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at Avilla First Baptist Church.
