Samantha Elaine Kraner, 16, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at her home.
Sam was born February 20, 2001, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Kurt “Andy” and Ginger (Pardee) Kraner. She was raised in the Joplin area and was currently a junior at Joplin High School. As a young girl, Sam found her talent in various forms of art, including drawing and sketching, and her artistic ability was something her family was very proud of as she expanded her talent through the years. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors at the creek and fishing. Sam’s appreciation for nature brought about her interest in raising bees and that was something she and her dad always talked about doing together. She had a sincere love for animals, especially her dog, Moose, and she enjoyed volunteering her time at the SEK Humane Society and lending a helping hand. Sam will be remembered as always being a friend to those that needed a friend the most. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed beyond measure.
Sam was preceded in death by her aunt, Karlane Kraner.
Survivors include her parents, Andy and Ginger; her brother, Ethan; her paternal grandmother, Marlane Williams; maternal grandparents, William and Rose Pardee; her aunts and uncles, Tricia and Mark Lintz, Heather and Joe Allison and Kimberly and Rob Stark; several cousins; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018, in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday following visitation with Pastor Donnie Talent officiating. Everyone is welcome to attend a reception at the Hilton Garden Inn of Joplin on Sunday following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joplin High School Art Club in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
