Mr. Wayne David Driver, 70, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, January 6, 2018, in the comfort of his home after a brief illness.
Wayne entered this life on January 12, 1947, in Heavener, Oklahoma, son of the late Franklin Samuel and Blanche (Dorsey) Driver. Wayne proudly served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War as a Door Gunner with the 1st Cavalry A-227 Division. After his honorable discharge in 1971, he and his brother Freddy purchased a gas station on Highway 75, between Jenks and Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Wayne has resided the last thirty-six years in Anderson, Missouri. He was a heavy hauler for Lone Star Transportation for thirty years. Wayne loved the open road and would often take not only his children but his beloved wife on long hauls. On October 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Nadine Cordray and to this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Barbara Frye-Dean, Clayton Driver and Freddy Driver.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Nadine Driver of the home; two children, David Driver and wife, Stephanie, of Seymour, Missouri and Cassandra Teague and husband, Arley, of Anderson, Missouri; two stepchildren, Danny Bacon and wife, Tamara, of Coweta, Oklahoma and Connie Roberts and husband, Mark, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Atisha, Donna, James, Colton, Courtney, Bridget and Hannah; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Driver are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Dr. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
