Norma Johnson

Norma Lea Johnson, age 79 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. following an illness.

Norma was born on October 7, 1939, in Benton County, Ar., the daughter of George and Georgia (Donnely) Fowler. Norma was a long-time area resident and worked for many years at The Candy House as a chocolate dipper until she retired in 1998. She was a member of the Prosperity Apostolic Faith Church.

She married Donald Johnson on October 12, 1957 in Gravette, Ar., he survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Melodie Conley and husband Robert of Fort Gibson, Ok., Donna Salzberg and husband John of Uxbridge, Ma.; one sister, Bertha Mae Cannon of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Zachary Doss, Jessica Caywood, Dan Salzberg and Kate Salzberg; and five great-grandchildren, Aiden Bemo, Dylan Doss, Michael Hix, Chloe Hill and Tanna Hill. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Prosperity Apostolic Faith Church in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
