Alice Meador Foster, age 98, passed away on March 21, 2019, at Lacoba Care Center. Mrs. Foster was born November 18, 1920, to Elmer and Bess Jones Meador at the Meador Farm which is now the Monett City Park. She graduated from Monett High School and the University of Missouri. After obtaining her teaching degree, she taught home economics in the Dixon, Mt. Vernon and Monett school systems, retiring in 1952.
She married Kenneth Foster on November 11, 1950, he preceded her in death on June 20, 2009, and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Peggy Kessinger of Carthage, and Deena DeMuri (Mike) of Buffalo; two sons: Robert Foster of Monett, and George Foster (Nikki) of Monett; two grandchildren: Meg and Alex DeMuri; and one sister-in-law: Barbara Foster of Monett.
After cremation, graveside services will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at 10:30a.m. at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home.
