Roy Schoenhals, 81 passed away March 25, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Joplin. Roy was born February 3, 1938 in Follett Texas to Henry and Lydia Schoenhals. He served in the United States Army. Roy was a resident of Carthage for the last 36 years moving from Perryton, Texas. He was a farmer in Texas and raised beef cattle and poultry in the Carthage area. He was a member of Grace Pointe Assembly of God Church where he served on the deacon’s board. He was a member of the Gideons. Roy had a heart for missions, and went on several mission trips over the years.
Roy was united in marriage to Lou “Fern” Whorton December 21, 1961 in Perryton Texas, she survives.
Roy is survived by one daughter Debbie Stephens and husband Eddie of Carthage and one son Craig Schoenhals and wife Janna of Nixa, one sister Gertrude Born of Darrouzette, Texas, five brothers Harold Schoenhals of Perryton, Texas, Alvin Schoenhals of Tucson AZ, Edward Schoenhals of Enid Ok, Lawrence Schoenhals of Carthage, MO, Elmer Schoenhals of Perryton, TX, five grandchildren Lane Stephens, Lacy Stephens, Madison Schoenhals, Grant Schoenhals and Connor Schoenhals.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Harry Schoenhals, Clarence Schoenhals and Henry Lee Schoenhals.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m.Saturday March 30, 2019 at Grace Point Assembly of God. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday March 29, 2019 at Grace Point Assembly of God. Burial will be held at Jasper Cemetery, Reeds Missouri. Contributions can be made to the Teen and Adult Challenge at Grace Point Assembly in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
