Henry Virgil Hottinger, 73, of Anderson, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at his home in Anderson, Missouri, with his loving wife and caregiver, Evelyn, at his side.
Henry entered this life on February 20, 1946, in Russellville, Arkansas, the only child of the late Henry Lester and Reba Novella (Kendrick) Hottinger. He moved to Anderson at the age of 13 and attended Anderson High School; upon leaving high school he joined and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge, he attended Franklin Technical Institute and became a Machinist for Sperry Rand Vickers in Joplin, MO. Henry married the love of his life, Evelyn Jean McGaugh, on July 21, 1967 in Noel, MO. He was a wonderful daddy to his son Thomas D. Hottinger and his daughter Terri CJ (Hottinger) McGuffey.
He was preceded in death by a special friend, Mary Lou Liskey; his father-in-law, Robert E. Yocum; his Aunt Mattie Marie (Hottinger) Johnson and grandmother, Floretta Kendrick, who raised him.
Henry is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home. One son, Thomas D. Hottinger and Carla of Anderson, Missouri; one daughter, Terri CJ (Hottinger) McGuffey and husband Bill of Neosho, Missouri; grandchildren, Caleb Eli McGuffey and wife Vanessa of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Mattie Marie McGuffey and son Zane of Neosho, Missouri, Autumn Hottinger of Anderson, Missouri; as well as his beloved Aunt Sue of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a lifelong friend, Ronnie King of Tulsa, Oklahoma; special friends, Doctor Frank Corcoran and Marty of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and family.
A Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. until service time; the family will receive friends at this time. The family will be at the home on 59 Yocum Drive in Anderson, Missouri.
