Jack Alan Bridges, age 66, Carthage, MO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on a beautiful Sunday morning, March 17, 2019. He was born October 20, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, MO to the late Carl R. and Mary P. “Pat” (Billington) Bridges.
Most of Jack’s years were lived in Carthage, MO. He retired from his business, Southwest Heating and Air, Inc. in 2017. He also worked alongside his father, who owned and operated Bridges Christmas Tree Farms for decades. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a firefighter from 1970-1976.
Jack was a wonderful, fun-loving father and grandfather, who adored his family. He was great at telling stories and had a lot of stories to tell! He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and his hot rod.
Jack is survived by two daughters, Kristen MacDonald (husband Todd), and Ashley Moore (husband Bryan); one brother, Jerry Bridges; one sister, Judy (Bridges) Crawford; and Peggy Magnusson, mother of Kristen and Ashley. Also surviving him are his beloved grandchildren, Maddie, Evan, Alice, Sydney, Milly and Kallie Jo; niece and nephews, Julie, Brad and Dustin; as well as his aunt, Patricia Turner, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Knell Mortuary. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Lewy Body Dementia Association in care of Knell Mortuary.
