Barbara Ann Stramel, 80, passed away March 29, 2019 at Carthage Health & Rehabilitation. Barbara was born July 13, 1938 in Oakley, KS to Floyd and Leola “Rooney” Boston. She moved from Greensburg, KS to Diamond, MO in 1972. When her husband passed, she moved to Carthage in 2002. Barbara was a homemaker and worked outside the home. In her later years, she worked in home healthcare. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, but her true loves were her family and fishing.
Barbara was united in marriage to Norman Stramel on May 27, 1956 in Oakley, KS; he preceded her in death in 2002.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Richard Stramel and wife Jeanne, Rod Stramel and wife Barb, both of Carthage; one daughter, Karlene Shull and husband David of Carthage; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Carthage. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Fullerton Cemetery.
