Darlene Mildred West Sheller, 83, Goodman, MO entered into rest March 23, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born October 19, 1935 in Anderson, MO to Richard Lyle and Edna Mae (Carter) West.
Darlene attended Blessed Hope Church in Goodman. She loved to crochet, knit, read, sing, and garden.
Darlene was a pre-school teacher and a military wife, having married George Dean Sheller on February 25, 1955 in Houston, TX. The Shellers returned to the area in 2002 from Houston. George preceded her in death on April 7, 2014.
Darlene is survived by three brothers: Timmy West and wife, Mary of Orange, Texas, Gerald West and wife, Kathy of Alvin, TX, and Larry Wayne West and wife, Carmen of Alvin, TX; three sisters: Florene Morris of Buna, TX, Kathryn Diehl and husband, Bob of Missouri City, TX, and Linda Singleton and husband, Larry of Goodman, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Although Darlene and George had no children, they considered their nieces and nephews as their own.
Friends may call after 9:00 am, Tuesday, March 26 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho; the family will hold a time of visitation on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 27 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO; interment will immediately follow.
