Barry Delaney

Barry Ward Delaney, age 67, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home with family at his side.

Barry was born November 9, 1951 in Buffalo, New York, son of the late William Delaney and Jean Stephens Delaney. He grew up in New York, and owned a business, Advent Concert Services, that supplied equipment for concerts in New York. He was also a Bobcat operator for years, and was most recently was owner and operator of Bobcat for Hire until 2019. He enjoyed working with wood and leather, which he learned over the years on his own. He was given the Native American name of Red Bear. He moved to the Joplin area in 1995, and was of the Bahai Faith.








Survivors include his wife, Ronda R. Delaney; honorary son, John Estes "John Boy"; daughters, Shannon Kraft (Zachariah Potter), Wenatchee, Washington, Melissa Delaney (Justin Best) of Bimidji, Minnesota, Amanda Delaney (Bill Howe) of Luverne, Minnesota, son, Justin Delaney of Fayetteville, North Carolina; stepchildren, Jason Foster of Denver, Colorado, Brandon Foster (Robin) of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ivy, Kayla, Damon, Anias, Zayathyn, Ethan, Amelia, and BreƱa; one great-grandchild; brother, Tim Delaney; sisters, Niki Kronenwetter, Babi Sue Delaney (Jim McGarrigle), Deana Choczyski (Ray), and Jeanette Jabbariazar; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m.
