Jack Comeau

Jack O’Neill Comeau, age 75, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, April 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. He was born January 11, 1944 in Lodi, California. Jack was a veteran serving his country in the United States Navy.

He married Phyllis Ellis on November 22, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma; she survives. Jack was owner/operator of Comeau Motors and Comeau Drilling Company. He was a lifetime member of the Carthage VFW Post 2590, the Joplin American Legion Post 13, and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed mule rides, had a knack for being a great care giver, even volunteering as a hospice worker, but most of all enjoyed Sunday lunches.








Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; two sons, Troy Comeau (wife Lorie), Carthage, Missouri, and Travis Comeau (wife Kenna), Carthage, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jesse, Casey and Carson Comeau, all of Carthage; one aunt, Delphine Gilpin, Joplin, Missouri; and many extended friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Comeau and Daphne (Brown) Comeau.

Visitation will be held 2-3 pm, Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Graveside funeral services will take place 10 am, Monday, April 29, 2019 at Park Cemetery, Carthage.
