Delmar Moore

Delmar Moore, 93, of Forsyth died Monday, April 15, 2019 at his residence. Interment, with military honors will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 3, 2019 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.

Delmar Moore was born Friday, October 9, 1925 in Joplin, MO to Jasper Delmar and Mary (Hathaway) Moore. He attended school in Oklahoma. During WWII he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served as a gunner aboard a B-52 Bomber. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Air Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1945. After his military service, he became an Over the Road Truck Driver. He met Patsy Marie Shivers in Atoka, OK and they were married October 26, 1983 in Springfield, MO. Delmar retired from truck driving with Yellow Freight in 1993.

Delmar was very knowledgeable about most subject and stood by his beliefs. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on cars, working on engines, computers and NASCAR. Most important, he adored his wife, Patsy. He was a member of the V.F.W and was of the Baptist Faith.








He is survived by his wife, Patsy of Forsyth; three sons, Robert Moore and wife, Jenny of Alba, MO, Ricky Johnston of Tishomingo, OK, Robbie Johnston and wife, Debbie of Stringtown, OK; four daughters, Cherry Troxel of Hendersonville, NC, Sandy Betebenner of Carl Junction, MO, Pamela Purdue and husband, Roy of Forsyth, Patricia Finestead and husband, Timothy of Forsyth and many grand and great-greatgrandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
