Virginia Ann Johnson, Neosho passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2019 at the age of 95 years, nine months, and 29 days. She was born June 10, 1923 in St. Louis, MO to Wallace A. and Virginia C. (Cavaness) Belsey.
Virginia was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Neosho. She produced beautiful calligraphy and artwork; she was a seamstress and had many other talents. For many years, Virginia would call or send cards to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to show her love.
Virginia and Spencer J. Johnson were married February 1, 1946 in Portland, OR; he preceded her in death on December 2, 2003. She is survived by five children, Joanna Holbrook of Traverse City, MI; Priscilla Cooper of Star City, AR; Dr. Sharon Johnson Frola of Bedford, PA; Paul M. Johnson of Santiago, Panama; and Philip S. Johnson of Neosho, MO; one sister, Elizabeth Palmer of Keizer, OR; 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two children, Stephen and Grace and two grandsons, Nathan Cooper and Josiah Holbrook.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO, with her son, Paul M. Johnson and Rev. Frank Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery, Diamond, MO. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Thursday evening at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 6:00 until 7:00 pm.
