Faye Rivette

Faye Nell Rivette, age 91, Joplin, passed away at 12:11 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019 at the home of her daughter after an illness.

Faye was born May 5, 1927 in Joplin to the late Elijah Daniels and Effie Smith Daniels and had lived in Joplin most of her life. She was the youngest of nine siblings.

She married Joe Rivette on September 18, 1946 in Louisiana. She loved her time in Louisiana where she had their first child and learned to become a great Cajun cook. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1997.

A homemaker, Faye had worked as a seamstress for over twenty-five years at the former Varsity/Pro-Am Athletic Shop. She was very talented and enjoyed ceramics, quilting, and gardening. She loved children and was a natural at teaching and playing with them. She lived her life with strength, grace, humor and love and was always dedicated to her family above all. She will be deeply missed.








Faye is survived by three sons, Joe Rivette, Jr. and wife, Patty, Tony Rivette, Paul Rivette and wife, Mary, all of Joplin; a daughter, Rebecca Rivette and husband, Matt Bernhagen, Joplin; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Saginaw Cemetery. Saginaw Cemetery is her family cemetery and was a special and beautiful place for her. She always made donations for its upkeep and contributions to the cemetery can be made in her honor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
