(From Clark Funeral Home)Billy Charles Martin, Sr. was born June 4, 1947 in Stella, Missouri, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Brust) Martin. He entered into rest on December 11, 2020 at Freeman Neosho, following a short illness at the age of 73.
Billy was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Granby High School. He only left his hometown to serve in the military with the U.S. Army from 1967-1969.
After his honorable discharge, he continued serving through his enlistment with the National Guard. Billy spent 15 years working with the Diamond Special Road District and retired with the company about six years ago.
Billy was a member of the Granby Miracle Church and served as an associate Pastor for their congregation. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and had a creative ability to build things.
Billy and Jane (Saunders) were married June 11, 1994, in Granby, Missouri; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Leann Martin of Neosho, Missouri, Buck Martin and wife Cheryl of Neosho, Missouri, Mindi Martin of Neosho, Missouri, Connie and John Rathmann of Neosho, Missouri, Todd and Terra Clouse of Granby, Missouri, and Kelly and Joe Bevis of Neosho, Missouri; Brother Bobby Martin and wife Kathy of Neosho, Missouri; Sister Betty and Ira Hawkins of Granby, Missouri; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Claudia and Les Haase of Granby, Missouri; 20 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Husband in-law, Harold Clouse. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Missouri. Interment will follow at the Hazel Green Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted.
