(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Lee Otis Ogle, age 87, passed away at 11:00 am at the home of his daughter in Sarcoxie following an illness.
Lee was born February 19, 1933 in Carthage, MO. His parents were Otis Ray and Libby Edna (Shultz) Ogle. Except for 12 years he lived at Table Rock Lake, he lived in Sarcoxie most of his life.
He served the country in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1953-57. He was employed at Atlas Powder Company, Carthage, MO for 13 years, but had been a farmer and cattleman most of his working career.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sarcoxie where he served as a deacon and was active in the Children’s ministry.
He was married to Margie Lou Moss on April 15, 1955 in Diamond, MO. She preceded him in death July 4, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, Byron Poe, and Ronald Poe, two great grandsons, Jordan Scott Ogle, and Elliott Pyle, and one great-granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Ogle.
Surviving are three daughters, Patty St Clair (husband, Steve), Sarcoxie, Trina Achterman (husband, Greg), Springfield, MO, and Cindy Watkins (husband Charles), Neosho, MO.; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lee was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, January 9, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Sarcoxie, MO. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
