(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)Maxine Milgrim, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020.
Maxine was born and raised in Tulsa, OK and that was where she met her loving husband Martin on a blind date. They married August 20, 1967.
After moving to Joplin, Maxine did bookkeeping and administrative work, eventually becoming an integral part of the Milgrim family pawnbroking business until they retired in 2002.
She was an active member of her community, volunteering for the United Hebrew Congregation Temple Aid Sisterhood and a lifelong member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Maxine is survived by Martin, who resides with their dog Julia in the home they shared for the past 45 years, as well as their daughter Sondra, who resides in North Carolina with her husband Brandon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, dear neighbors, and countless friends. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Joplin Humane Society or to the Martin and Maxine Milgrim Foundation at the United Hebrew Congregation.
Graveside services are 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin.
