(From Parker Mortuary)Our precious mom was surrounded by her family when she gained her angel wings. Rosalie “Rose” Stokes Ivy passed away December 24th at Freeman Hospital. She was 85 years young.
She leaves behind one daughter, Peggy Staples; two sons, Randy Stokes (Pat) and Scott Stokes (Jeannie); nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Louise Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Effie Bass; the father of her children, Paul Stokes, who passed away in January 1987; her husband, Fred Ivy, who passed away in December 2017; a son, Steve Stokes, who passed away in December 2009; a brother, Charles Bass; son-in-law, Larry Staples, who she loved like a son and lost in November 2019; and her precious great-grandson, Josh Michael, in May 2020.
She will be missed.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Kevin Klein officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are David Staples, Jason Stokes, Matt Stokes, Kyler Stokes, Ty Stokes, and Steve Stokes, Jr. with Jeremy Stokes serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
