(From Ozark Funeral Home)Loren Dale Gardner, Sr., 80, of Noel, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following complications from a stroke.
He was born on July 18, 1940 in Noel, Missouri to the late, Charlie and Hazel Mae (Watson) Gardner.
Loren married Norma Marie Lewis on March 22, 1957 in Pineville, Missouri. Loren spent most of his life farming; but worked several years as a Deputy Sheriff in McDonald County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding horses. Loren will be remembered by most of his friends by his CB handle, “Soapy”.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wesley Eugene Gardner.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Gardner of the home; children, Lorna Lowe and husband, Terry of La Vernia, Texas, Laura Gardner of Susanville, California, Linda Dyki and husband, John of Pineville, Missouri, Loren Dale Gardner, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Elkton, Oregon, Luther Gardner and wife, Kathy of Pineville, Missouri; a sister, Margie Bever of Noel, Missouri; grandchildren, Joshua, Jenny, Jessie, Leslie, Savannah, Avery, Aaron, Andrew, Scotty, Brandi, Sylvia, Roseanne, Hazel and Nathanial; a passel of great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Loren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Anderson Chapel of Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Galeon Smith will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.
