(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Thomas (Tom) Kenneth Carlin, age 88, passed away on December 22, 2020. Tom was born on May 26, 1932 to Fred and Myrtle Carlin in Racine, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife June (Akers) of nearly 70 years, two daughters Doris Carlin (Gary Bandy) of Joplin, Missouri, Delores Carlin McGarrahan (Ken) of Racine, Missouri as well as grandchildren Ben Burnett (Kellie) of Coweta, Oklahoma, Coleman Carlin Bandy (and fiance’ Savanah Mandeville) of Coweta, Oklahoma, Jena McGarrahan of Broomfield, Colorado, Erin Waynick of Loveland, Colorado, and four great-grandchildren.
Tom was born and grew up in Racine, Missouri. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1950. Tom married his high school sweetheart June on May 24, 1951. They moved to California where he was a selfemployed carpenter for 27 years. In 1979 Tom and June returned to Racine where they built their retirement home on land that was originally part of the Carlin homestead. Tom enjoyed planting trees and flowers and feeding the birds. His hobbies included woodworking, antiquing, and making knives.
Tom was hard working, yet fun loving. He loved cars, and cowboys, but especially his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
