Dolores Thompson

Dolores Gayle Thompson, age 75, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Spring River Christian Village.

Dolores was born March 5, 1947 in Madisonville, KY, daughter of the late William Pierce and Erma (Troop) Pierce. She grew up in Chicago, IL. 

She married the love of her life, Larry Thompson, on August 14, 1965 in Shawneetown, IL. Together they shared 56 beloved years. 








She worked as a truck driver and most recently as a cashier at Ryan’s Cleaners in town. She enjoyed reading, listening to old classic country music, butterflies, and hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her children and grandbabies. She was a huge advocate for special needs programming.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Larry Thompson; three children, Angela Wagner, Connie Moss (Alan), and Kandi Griffith (Marvin); six grandchildren, Dakota Garrett, Kiara Smothers, Brandon Griffith (Destiny), Savannah Moore (Troy), Lindsey Warner, and Shandy Hoeffer (Ryan); six great-grandchildren, Titus, Athena, Illiana, Gwen, Kylie, and Alaina; one brother, Daniel Pierce (Linda); and three sisters, Vicki Ary, Denise Lentz, and Anita Harris (Randy).

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be made out to The American Kidney Fund, The American Liver Foundation, or Parker Mortuary to help with funeral expenses.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
