Carl Elkins

Carl L. Elkins, age 83, of Joplin, MO passed away on July 21, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Carl was born on May 25, 1942, in Stella, MO to his parents Quannah and Rutholene (Brattin) Elkins. He graduated from Wheaton High School and briefly attended North Montana College prior to joining the US Air Force. Carl served from 1961-1982 while stationed overseas in Guam, Germany, and Vietnam receiving multiple commendations for his tour in Vietnam. He worked as a diesel mechanic at Mizzou Aviation until his retirement in 2005.








He married Christa (Steinbach) on June 28, 1963, in Sembach, Germany and she survives. Additional survivors include, two daughters, Christine Myers and husband Kenneth, and Patricia Fenenbock and husband Matt Jaeger, three grandchildren, Brandon Myers, Dallas Myers, and Brandi Fundin, five great grandchildren, Rylie, Jack, Hunter, Charlotte, and Lincoln.

He is preceded by his parents and two brothers, Don Elkins and Loy Elkins. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to Alaska with his wife Christa.








Services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2025 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm. Family requests that guests please wear casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children’s Haven in care of the mortuary.

  1. Great guy. Only was able to interact with him a few times but he made an impression. You quickly knew he was a person you would be blessed to have on your side. Happy to have met Carl.
