Leon Perry

Leon Calvin Perry, 81, of Monett passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born in Kansas City, Kan., on May 31, 1944; the son of Ancel and Marguerite Perry.

He spent 33 years in educational leadership. During his tenure as a principal, he was known for his compassionate leadership, integrity, and relentless pursuit of excellence in education.







He married Carol Ann Elliott on June 10, 1972, in rural Webb City, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist. They were blessed with two children and 53 years of memories made together.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Ty (Christen) Perry of Monett; his daughter, LeAnn Perry of Lee’s Summit; one grandson, Lincoln Perry of Monett; his mother-in-law, Jewell Elliott of Carthage; and a host of friends, as well as numerous students and colleagues.








He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Amelia Grace Perry.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett, where services were held on Friday, July 25, 2025. David Bycroft officiated the services and interment followed at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
