Marvin McCollough

Marvin Eugene McCollough, age 93, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on July 20, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

Marvin was born on February 9, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, to Glen Estell McCollough and Alma Maria (Feldhus) McCollough. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts from Pittsburg State University and proudly served in the United States Army from September 1952 to September 1954.






On October 22, 1955, Marvin married Reba Mae Sheat at Bethany Baptist Church. He worked for Finley Engineering and, alongside Reba, operated the McCollough U-Pick Field where they raised strawberries—a labor of love that became a cherished part of their life together.

Survivors include three sons: Steve (Valerie) McCollough of Liberal, Missouri; Mike (Karen) McCollough of Joplin, Missouri; and Bradley McCollough of Cookeville, Tennessee; grandchildren: Erin and Jason Kirouac, Abby and Curtis Prichard, Erin Mekkaoui, Cody and Megan McCollough, Kolby and Blake McCollough, Kayla McCollough, Blake McCollough, Alex McCollough, and Tyler Crouch; nine great-grandchildren; and a large extended family who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Reba; a grandson, Tyler Crouch; and daughter-in-law, Melisa McCollough.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Missouri, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.








The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
