(From Parker Mortuary)Joan Marie Slowey, 69, passed away on July 24, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on December 9, 1955, in Independence, Iowa, to the late Frederick Chapman and Wanita (Hansen) Chapman.
Joan's journey was one of creativity and compassion. Her hands, always busy, worked magic with yarn, clay, and gardening from crocheted blankets, delicate paintings, to earthen pottery. She had a deep love for her animals; Jaco her parrot and Codey her terrier.
She is survived by her children; Jeremy Clark (Susannah), Doug Clark (Brooke), and Josh Clark (Michelle); 11 grandchildren; and sister, Kathy Wendtland.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Chapman and Jean Chapman.
Cremation arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
