(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Steven Dale Brown, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at his home in Ash Grove, Missouri. Steven was born in Aurora, Missouri, on October 24, 1948.
Steven was 1966 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and economics from Southwest Missouri State College. Steven served from 1970 until 1976 in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in the Azores and Guam during the Vietnam conflict. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent time raising horses, fishing, and hunting. He was also skilled in leatherwork and metalwork.
Steven is survived by his wife, Coreen Brown; two daughters, Carrie Ragsdale of Billings, Missouri and Beth Eggleston and her husband, Shawn, of Ozark, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tyler Ragsdale, Dakota Ragsdale, Madison Ragsdale, Alex Eggleston, and Mary Ellen Eggleston; one step-daughter, Whitney Corbin; three step-grandchildren, Ethan Corbin, Chace Corbin and Gracyn Corbin; two brothers, David Brown and his wife, Joann, of Greenfield, Missouri, and Kent Brown and his wife, Katie, of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Steven was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Brown, his parents, Donald and Lucy Brown and nephew, Aaron Brown.
Steven will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.
A graveside service under the directions of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Summit Cemetery northeast Mt. Vernon.
