(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)John Allan, age 71, of Diamond, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Oak Pointe in Neosho, Missouri.
John was born on October 31, 1953 in Newton County.
He had resided most of his life in Diamond, Missouri.
He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Carthage, Missouri.
He was a concrete layer for Ron Dale Construction, Co. for over 20 years. He also owned and operated John Allan Backhoe Service for 14 years.
He collected coins, liked cars, enjoyed watching football and NASCAR, and drag races.
He married Catherine Marie Houk on March 20, 1983, in Joplin, Missouri and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2024.
Survivors include one son; John C. Allan II and spouse, Lydia, of Diamond, Missouri, one daughter; Krystle (Allan) Carr and spouse, William, one stepson; Bryan S. Houk of Granby, Missouri, one sister; Donna Stewart of Joplin, Missouri, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Allan and Barbara Anderson.
Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Kenji Harrington officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church building fund.
