Dale Sparlin

Dale Wayne Sparlin, age 72, of Joplin, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Dale was born on March 23rd, 1953 in Bakersfield, CA to the late union of Walter Sparlin Jr. and Evelyn (Ireland) Sparlin. He was a 1971 graduate of Carl Junction High School. A few years later, Dale married the love of his life, Kathy Boyd on May 17th, 1974 in Joplin, MO and together they were blessed with two daughters, Kristi Sparlin and Jennifer Henning. Dale and Kathy enjoyed over 46 years of marriage together before her passing on November 16, 2020. 





Dale began working as a mechanic at Volkswagen for a few years before entering into his lifetime career at Schreiber Foods as a maintenance and cheese cutter for over 26 years, retiring in 1999. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, collecting guns, going to gun ranges, riding his Harley, going to car shows and cruising around town in his Jeep truck. 

As Dale began to get older, he turned his Harley into a trike to be able to keep riding. He was a member of several Joplin Gun Clubs and Motorcycle Clubs. He always made an effort to be a part of the Rides for Charities and help support those who had lost a loved one. Dale was a stand-up guy and was always there to lend a hand when someone was in need.

Dale is survived by his two daughters, Kristi Sparlin and Jennifer Henning and husband, Carl; four grandchildren, Ali Sparlin, Mykel Sparlin, Cory Myers and wife, Jessica, and Trace Myers and wife, Tina; three great-grandchildren, Bryson, Lola and Easton; one brother, Donald Sparlin and wife, Darla; one sister, Linda Watkins; and three fur babies, Zoey, Little Bear and Nix.






A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 at a time TBD at Wildcat Park.

A private burial will be held at Carl Junction Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
