Susan Spry

Susan Kay Spry, age 63, Monett, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her home.

Susan was born January 21, 1963, in Tulare, CA, daughter of the late Charles Allen Spry and Dixie Louise (Morris) Spry. She moved to Missouri as a child and has spent most of her life in Missouri. Susan lived at the Sunshine Group home for some time before moving to Spring St. in Cassville. In 2006 Susan moved to Summer Hill Group home where she resided with her roommates for many years. 

In 2018 Susan and her long-time roommate and friend moved to Monett where she lived out the rest of her days. Susan was a member of the Countryside Church of Monett for many years. Susan was active in the Special Olympics when she was younger participating in track and field, she completed the 100-meter walk and softball throw. She was an Olympian with many medals to show. Susan enjoyed spending time at the park swinging and eating at McDonalds.

She is survived by her friends and caregivers at the Arc of the Ozarks, to include her Gentiva Hospice family.

Memorial service will be Monday, July 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Charlie Rose officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with burial of her ashes in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage, MO at a later date.
