Hazel May Hopper Blankenship, 87, Neosho, entered into rest on Feb. 4, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following failing health.
Hazel was born May 13, 1930 in VanBuren, AR, the daughter of James S. and Rosie I. (Maples) Tanner. She was a lifelong area resident and had retired from Tyson Foods in Neosho. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Citizens Center and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Hazel is survived by six children, Gary Hopper and wife, Patricia of Granby; Fay Robertson and husband, Joe of Augusta, GA; Kay Pugh and husband, Sam of Neosho; Michael Hopper of Neosho; Nancy Hollingsworth and husband, Steve of Belleview, IL; and Timothy Hopper and wife, Nancy of Altoona, IA; twenty two grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Hopper and one daughter, Connie Bohannon.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Billy Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
