Carolyn Masur

Carolyn Masur, 85, of Carl Junction, Missouri (formerly of Monett, Missouri) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday November 1, 2017.

Carolyn was born on August 15, 1932 in Arp, Texas to Floyd and Gladys (Barber) Moore. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. She was united in marriage to Mark Masur on September 16, 1954 in Verona, Missouri.

Carolyn had to deal with many health issues throughout her life, but found joy in her children and grandchildren, flowers, hummingbirds, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, painting, paper mache’, and genealogy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carl Junction, Missouri.

She is survived by one son: Nick (Kathy) Masur of Colorado (children Matthew and Melissa); three daughters: Patty (Art) Clement of Carl Junction, Missouri (children Cherie, Heather, Lauren, and Monica); [children of Cherie and Brian Hill: Shayla (Jeff) Moore and children : Ember and Benton, Trevor Hill and Kynslee Hill; children of Heather Clement: Kimberiln, Breanna, and Brendon]; daughter Sandy (Doug) McCall of Nevada, Missouri (children Jordan, Kelsey, and Nathan); daughter Susan (Michael )Garoutte of Carl Junction (children Audrey and Madeleine); two brothers, Gary Moore of Hermitage, Missouri, and Jim Moore of Georgia; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Mark), and her sister, Billie Carter.

Visitation is being held on Monday November 6, 2017 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m.. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation on Monday November 6, 2017 at 2:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett, Missouri with Rev. Russell Roderick officiating. Burial will follow services next to her husband Mark at the Summit Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

Memorial donations for Carolyn may be made in her name to the Holt International Children’s Services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
