Karen Renee Hatfield Cahalan, 55, Neosho, entered into rest on Jan. 9, 2018 at her home in Neosho.
Karen was born Sept. 30, 1962 in Neosho, the daughter of Jimmie Dean and Goldie (Moore) Hatfield. She was a lifelong Neosho resident and graduated from Neosho High School in 1980 and from the Crowder College Nursing Program. She worked as an occupational health nurse at Butterball in Carthage and was an LPN. Karen loved to garden and loved all animals, especially horses; floating at the creek; going to yard sales; being a Nana and spending time with her grandchildren and was loved by all. She was a member of the Belfast Baptist Church.
Karen is survived by two daughters,, Janessa Schenck and fiancĂ©’, Cody Farley of Granby and Janaya Lumpkins of Neosho; one son, Vincent Cahalan of Neosho; two grandchildren, Alayna and Cason Farley; her mother, Goldie Hatfield of Neosho; three brothers, Mark Hatfield of Neosho; Ronnie Hatfield and wife, Carol of Joplin and Brian Hatfield and wife, Lisa of Granby. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kassie Schenck and her father, Jimmie Dean Hatfield.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Ric Stiegman will be officiating. Interment will follow in the King Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Vincent Cahalon, Ronnie Hatfield, Brian Hatfield, Cody Farley, Shawn Farmer, Caleb Hatfield and Carl Lumpkins. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 5 to 7 pm. The casket will be closed at all times.
