Robert Cummins

Robert Lee Cummins, joined his Heavenly Father, wife and two sons, Sunday January 7, 2018. He was 91.

Bob was born June 15, 1926 in a prairie home near Skiatook, OK to Loy Robert and Eyhel Lucille (Wilder) Cummins. At 18 years of age Bob join the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during World War II. Following WWII Bob continued his service joining the Army Reserves serving in the Army a total of 21 years. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Green Acres Baptist Church in Miami, formally known as The First Baptist Church of Picher, OK. He was a machinist for Vickers Inc. in Joplin, MO.

Bob met Dorothy Faye Simons and they married January 12, 1946, they were married 63 years, until her death October 4, 2011. They raised 3 sons; Robert Jr., Charles and Wayne.

Bob is survived by son Charles of Wichita, KS, 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, several nieces and nephew and many lifelong friends.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, KS. Rev. Ed Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
