Robert “Pooter” L. Strickland, 69, Carthage, MO, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Joplin Gardens, Joplin, MO. Robert Lynn Strickland was born July 28, 1948 in Carthage, MO to Ruth (Scott) Strickland. Pooter worked in the warehouse at O’Sullivans in Lamar, MO and Bob’s Shoe Warehouse off of the square in Carthage, MO. He attended the Forest Park Church in Carthage.
Survivors include four brothers, Fred Strickland, Kansas City, MO, Brian Strickland, Carthage, MO, Victor Strickland (wife Pam), Carthage, MO, and Nathan Strickland, Webb City, MO; one sister, Marilyn Vera, Carthage, MO; one nephew, Sean Strickland, CA, and surrounded by a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother, Winston Strickland, and three sisters, Teresa Strickland, Beverly Strickland, and Brenda Strickland.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Nazarene Church, Carthage. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Family suggests donations be made to Knell Mortuary to help with funeral expenses for Robert “Pooter” Strickland.
