Irine Hight

Irine Fay Hight, age 64, Joplin, passed away at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Mercy Hospital after an illness.

Irine was born January 7, 1955 in Eureka, California to the late Harold Fadling and Mable Morris Fadling.

Irine worked as a bartender for most of her working life. She and her late husband, Carl 'Cotton' Hight, owned and operated Cotton and Irine's Lounge in Joplin for ten years. She had also worked at the former Dixie Lee's Bar, The Western and Silverado's. Irine was a member of the Ladies of the Elks and volunteered at the Joplin Cerebral Palsy Center for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Irine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; and siblings, Norman, Dewey and Earl.










Survivors include her two sons, Paul Slankard and wife, Jill, Seneca, David Slankard, Joplin; step children, Ron Hight and wife, Melanie, Joplin, Lanny Hight and wife, Tammy, Neosho, Cynthia Lea and husband, David, Monett; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn, Cindy, Sid, Norma, Tina, Debbie, Alfred, Goldie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Private family memorial services are being planned for a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
