Mary Boyd Mitchell, age 84, Joplin, passed away at 4:02 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary was born August 2, 1934 in Cole County, Oklahoma to the late Clifford DuBois and Alpha Emma Shepherd DuBois and had lived in Joplin since 2012, moving from Texas.
A homemaker, Mary had worked as a beautician in Kansas City after completing school in Wichita, Kansas. She also owned and operated MBM Trucking, retiring in 1998. Mary had attended Christ's Community United Methodist Church in Joplin for several years.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Mitchell, in 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wheelan, Joplin, Regina Allen and husband, Vernon, Red Oak, Texas; and a grandson, Scott Wheelan and wife, Alicia.
Mary will be buried at Stone Cemetery, East of Joplin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
