Stephen Hale McGinty, 67, Columbia, MO passed unexpectedly April 2, 2019 in Neosho. Stephen was born July 25, 1951 in Neosho to Edward Hale and Betty (McGuire) McGinty. He was a longtime Neosho area resident, graduating Neosho High School in 1969 and later graduating Missouri State.
Stephen was a former Neosho City Councilman and co-owner and manager of McGinty’s Department Store. Most recently, he was the owner-operator of McGinty’s Pub.
Stephen is survived by his children: Brent McGinty (Jenn) of Jefferson City, MO, Michael McGinty (Jill) of Columbia, MO, Anthony Price, Cory Knight, and Brandon Knight; two sisters: Sharon Whitworth of Iola, KS and Marsha Coffman (Don) of Yates Center, KS; five grandchildren: Gabi McGinty, Aidan McGinty, Ella McGinty, Jacob McGinty, and Jack McGinty; four nieces and nephews: Charlie Whitworth, Tara Hartman, Chris Coffman, and Stephen Coffman; and the mother of his children, Teresa Baird.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Jerry Whitworth.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO.
