Roger Zeorlin

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Mr. Roger Allen Zeorlin, 80, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life after courageously battling a long illness on Thursday, December 10, 2020, while at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.

Roger was born on November 12, 1940, in St. Joseph Missouri, son of the late Reynold and Lillian (Vaeth) Zeorlin. He was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a 1959 graduate of Christian Brothers Catholic High School.

On October 17, 1964, he was united in marriage to Nancy Marie Hunter, and to this union two sons and one daughter were born. Roger was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Roger followed the Catholic faith throughout his life.

Roger and Nancy resided in Kansas City, Missouri, where Roger was employed by Armour Foods. In 1984, they moved to Noel, Missouri, where they owned and operated Arthur Murray’s Motel until retiring in 2006. Roger was a huge sports fan, especially Notre Dame Football (GO IRISH!) and the Kansas City Chiefs.

He loved spending time with his dogs, puttering around the house, sitting on the deck and enjoying the river, and watching TV. Roger was extremely ornery. In the evenings, he liked to go to his “Sports Shack” and watch various sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 49 years, Nancy Zeorlin; two sons, Jody Lee Zeorlin and Bradley Allen Zeorlin; three brothers, Harold, Don, and Gregg Zeorlin; three sisters, Arlene Serocki, Nadine Ketchem, and Virginia Jasper.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Carrie Zeorlin Edens and husband Justin of Noel, Missouri; grandson, Adrian Zeorlin and wife, Trixie, of Lee Summit, Missouri; and great-grandson Adrian Zeorlin II; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Roger was very well loved and will be greatly missed.

Graveside services are 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Noel Cemetery with Father Charles Dunn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the Zeorlin family requests that memorial contributions be made to I’m Your Huckleberry Rescue P.O. Box 271, Pineville, Missouri, 64854. If sending a contribution by check, please place Roger's name in the memo line.
