Michael Skrzypek

Michael Albert Skrzypek, a master craftsman and beloved patriarch, passed away peacefully on June 15th, 2024 at the age of 84. He was a man whose hands shaped not only wood and all things automotive, but also the hearts and minds of all who knew him.

Born on April 29th, 1940 in Lackawanna, New York to the late Albert and Catherine (Kosek) Skrzypek, Michael discovered a passion for woodworking and all things mechanical at a young age. Michael found joy and fulfillment in every project he undertook. His shop was his sanctuary, where creativity flowed freely and where he imparted invaluable skills and wisdom to those fortunate enough to learn from him.

 

Michael's dedication to his craft was matched only by his love for his family. Michael married the love of his life, Daphne ‘Dee’ Stephens-Skrzypek on May 27th, 1964 in Knob Noster, Missouri. To this union two children were born: Albert Michael and Katherine Ruth. After time spent in Arcade, New York, they moved to Pineville, Missouri where they would spend the rest of their days.

Professionally, Michael excelled in his early years as a mechanic at the Northeastern Trans Parts in Buffalo, New York, and later a Master Instructor for the JB Hunt Corporation in Rogers, Arkansas where he aided in the teaching and knowledge of hundreds of drivers nationwide. Michael’s attention to detail and unwavering productivity set him apart. His reputation for excellence and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Michael is proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Daphne ‘Dee’ Skrzypek; two brothers, Albert ‘Jimmy’ Skrzypek, and Eugene ‘Gene’ Skrzypek.

 

Michael is survived by a son, Albert M. Skrzypek and wife Pennie of New River, Arizona; a daughter, Katherine R. Skrzypek Wilson and husband Curtis of Gravette, Arkansas; a brother, Paul Skrzypek of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Sophie Klein of Westminster, Maryland and Annett Hudes of Pheonix, Arizona; and three grandchildren, Zoey Skrzypek; Lexie Wilson and soon to be husband, Damon; and Madison Wilson. Michael was a member of the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church in Noel, Missouri.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 25th at 10am at the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church in Noel, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Michael wished for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. The family extends an invitation to lunch following the Funeral Mass. Lunch will be at Michael’s favorite restaurant, Los Mariachis in Anderson, Missouri immediately following the conclusion of mass.
