Jo Ann Howell

Jo Ann Howell was born on April 5, 1937, in Mountainburg, Arkansas, one of six children to Earl and Jewell (Morgan) Jones. She entered into rest on June 25, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 87. 

Jo Ann was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife for 65 years serving beside her husband in his ministry. They also served as prison missionaries in California and Arkansas, while being a chaplain. She was of the Baptist Faith. 

On December 25, 1955, in Exeter, Missouri, Jo Ann and C. M. Howell were united in marriage and shared sixty-six years together before his passing on December 24, 2022. 

Jo Ann is survived by two children, Connie Thornton and husband, Mark of Colorado and Michael Howell and wife, Phyllis of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jeremy Thornton and wife, Elisa; Kristin Wren and husband, Andrew; Jacob Thornton and wife, Olivia and Sarah Howell Bolt and husband, Austin; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Donnie Jones and wife, Dottie, Jimmie Jones, Eddy Jones and wife, Audie and one sister, Sue Williams and husband, Harold. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Danny Jones. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Clark Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Missouri and serving as pallbearers will be sons and grandsons, Jeremy, Jacob, Andrew, Austin, Mike and Mark. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until service time.
