Larry Hobbs

Larry Dean Hobbs, born on August 26, 1949, in Pineville to Dolphus and Audrey (Leeper) Hobbs, passed away on June 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Larry married Sandra Louise Nunley on March 26, 1972, and together they shared many beautiful years.

Larry was a lifelong fisherman who had a deep love for the outdoors and hunting. He delighted in sharing his passion for fishing and hunting, along with a few fish stories, with his grandchildren.







Larry honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the Special Forces. His service took him to many places, Australia being his favorite. After his military service, he attended Crowder College, where he earned an associate degree in agriculture. Larry spent most of his career as a Tool and Die maker. Larry resided in Anderson most of his life, moving to Bolivar for better fishing and hunting in recent years.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years. 








He is survived by Children Aimee (Rodney) Griner, Evan (Kendra) Hobbs, Lacy (Matt) Sukovaty, Grandchildren Jacquelyn (Jeremy) Clark, Richard Lester, Daymian Griner, Emmett Sukovaty, and Great-grandson Silas Clark. Sister-in-law and friend Sharron Arntfield and several nieces and nephews.

Larry will be remembered for his quiet and kind personality, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him with his kindness and faith. In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to any Veterans charity.
