(From Parker Mortuary)Teresa Delyte Hedge, age 70, of Webb City, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her home in Webb City.
Teresa, daughter of the late Fred and Hollis (Richardson) Jack, was born on October 14, 1953, in Ft. Wayne, IN. Teresa began her life's journey in Ft. Wayne, IN, but at a young age, she moved with her family to Carthage, where she completed her education and made her home.
Teresa was first married to Terry Dean Devins, and to this union four children were born, Tina Trevor Terry and Teisha. Terry and Teresa later separated but remained friends throughout their lives, raising their children. She later was united in marriage to Jon Hedge on June 3, 1988, in Carthage. Together, they enjoyed years of laughter and fun.
Teresa worked several jobs over the years, but of all her roles, she spoke most fondly of her time at Hallmark in Joplin, where she connected and enjoyed the daily interactions with customers. She was a woman of many interests, each reflecting her vibrant and engaging spirit. She was an avid collector of timepiece clocks and the collectible figurines known as Trail of Painted Ponies, finding joy in the beauty and craftsmanship of each piece.
Teresa was an active member of several local clubs, including the Precious Moments Club, Empty Bobbins Quilting Club, and Seneca Saddle Club. She was dedicated in volunteering with the Joplin Humane Society and her dedicated service as an election pole volunteer for Jasper County. She found joy in quilting and baking for her family.
She was a farm girl at heart, enjoying simple things as watching hummingbirds, driving through the countryside in search of rustic old barns to admire, the freedom of horseback riding and feeling a connection with horse and nature while on the trails. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother Teresa gave of herself without expecting anything in return. Teresa’s love knew no bounds and those memories will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know Teresa.
