(From Westfield Funeral Chapel)Gary David Shappell, 61, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on July 14, 2025, in Fayetteville surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 04, 1964 in Odon, Indiana.
Gary owned and operated Gary Shappell Trucking for over 30 years. Gary was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Washington County for several years. Gary was in Law Enforcement at Lincoln in the 80/90s., He was a Firefighter and First Responder.
Gary enjoyed his family, friends, camping and traveling, He always loved to just jump up and go on road trips, He was very proud of all his children and grandchildren.
Gary was Preceded in death by his Parents, Gary Jonathan Shappell and Penny Womack Franklin (Robbie) of Prairie Grove Ar. Brother Terry Shappell and Grandson Cooper Barens.
Gary is survived by his wife Karen. 2 Daughters: Brittany Shappell and Tiffany Spencer (Frank) of Anderson Mo. Stepson Dewayne Barens (Molly) of Cave Springs AR. 2 Brothers: Buddy Griggs of Western Grove and Josh Scates of Berryville, one sister Rhonda Hulse of Sonora.
Gary was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Brantley, Bryson, Madisyn, Brooklyn, Cross, Cooper, Brooks and Olivia.
Visitation will be at Westfield Chapel Springdale AR on Friday July 18th 5-7pm. Funeral service at Westfield Chapel on Saturday July 19th, 11:00 am. Burial in Friendship Cemetary Springdale Ar.
