Roy Roper, 73, Neosho, MO passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home. Roy was born May 25, 1945 to Wallace M. and Bessie (Moffet) Roper. He served in the US Air Force and worked as a small engine mechanic, owning and operating Roper’s Service in Neosho for many years. He enjoyed his family, tinkering, fishing, and watching movies with his grandson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Neosho.
He married the former Gay Branstetter on December 12, 1964 in Goodman; she preceded him in death on February 23, 2016. Roy is survived by his daughter, Amy Tanner and husband, Danny of Granby, and his son, Daniel W. Roper of Racine; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
In addition to his wife, Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Christopher David Roper.
A memorial visitation will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Contributions to honor Roy may be made to The American Heart Association, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
