Susie Pope

Mrs. Carol Jean “Susie” Pope, 74, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2019, in the comfort of her home, after a lengthy illness.

Susie entered this life on May 9, 1944, in Long Beach, California, born to the union of the late Kenyeth and Helen Louise (Baker) Houtchens. She was raised in Amarillo, Texas and was a 1962 graduate of Amarillo High School. She resided in various places throughout her life before moving to Anderson, Missouri, in 2008.

 On December 23, 2000, she was united in marriage to Bob Pope. She retired from Wal-Mart as department manger after fifteen years of service. She enjoyed reading, traveling, family and friends and spending time with the love of her life, Bob. Susie was a member of the Patterson Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kevin Preciado and William “Bill” McWain; and a grandson, Kaleb Cain. 








She is survived by her husband Gary Bob Pope. Additional survivors include her daughter, Holly Roberson and husband, Keith, of Bridgeport, Texas; her daughter in-law, Chrissy McWain of Rockledge, Florida; four grandchildren, Brennon, Alan, Andrew and Katie; her brother, Terry Houtchens and wife, Lori, of Amarillo, Texas; her sister, Judi Matthews and husband, Michael, also of Amarillo; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Patterson Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Mills officiating. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com
